Agreement between two women for entrepreneurship

[Madrid, April 8, 2025]UN Tourism and Bridge for Billions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the tourism sector. This agreement reflects both entities’ shared commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive economic development through tourism.

The Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Zurab Pololikashvili, and the CEO of Bridge for Billions, Pablo Santaeufemia, formalized the agreement at Bridge for Billions’ headquarters in Madrid. This alliance aims to enhance the impact of tourism as a driver of social and economic development by supporting the creation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), fostering innovation, and promoting social impact in local communities around the world.

Advancing tourism innovation and entrepreneurship: key objectives

UN Tourism and Bridge for Billions will jointly work on initiatives that focus on:

  • Entrepreneurship development and capacity building: Supporting sustainable tourism entrepreneurs through innovative programs.
  • Promotion of innovative and sustainable solutions: Driving business models that benefit local communities.
  • Creation of inclusive social impact: Strengthening tourism models that promote equity and community development.
  • Research and knowledge exchange: Generating resources to strengthen the global tourism sector.
  • Public-private partnerships: Encouraging collaboration to scale sustainable solutions.

“Innovation and entrepreneurship are essential to building a more resilient and equitable tourism sector. This agreement with Bridge for Billions will allow us to join forces to empower new entrepreneurs and strengthen the foundations of sustainable tourism,”

said Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UN Tourism.

Pablo Santaeufemia, CEO of Bridge for Billions, added:

“Our goal has always been to democratize access to entrepreneurship. This alliance with UN Tourism will allow us to bring our impact to the tourism sector, creating opportunities for those who want to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.”

Both parties have agreed that the collaboration will be structured around specific projects to be defined in the coming months, with a strong focus on maximizing the social and economic impact of tourism.
